If you are looking for the gravy you can try this eggplant gravy in instant pot.Arisi(Rice) upma is a very simple recipe. All you need to do use the broken rice rava you get in the Indian grocery store and do this recipe or you can make rice rava in your blender and do this arisi upma instant pot.

Now let us see how to make this arisi upma instant pot.
Wash 1.5 cup of rice, pat dry with a clean cloth or paper towel for 20 minutes. Then grind the rice in a mixer till the rice is broken into halves. Make sure it is not grounded very fine. It has to be coarse powder.
You can add red chilli, cumin seeds, black pepper while grinding.
Turn on the instant pot. Press Saute, wait until it displays ‘HOT’.Add Coconut oil and wait a minute. Add mustard seeds and let it crackle. You can add some broken red chilli if you need more spicy at this stage.
Add curry leaves,hing and saute for a minute. Add water and let it come to a rolling boil.
Add salt and broken rava. Stir it well without any lumps. Close the lid and press ‘Manual’ High Pressure 6 minutes, Sealing mode. Do a natural release. Your arisi upma | broken idli rava upma is ready to serve.
Tips: If you want the arisi upma or broken idli rava upma to be little dry, keep the pot open for 10 minutes once you release the pressure. Mix it gently.

- 1 sprig Curry leaves (Optional)
- 1.5 Cups Broken Rice or Idli Rava
- 4 Cups Water
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 number Red chilli(Broken) Increase or decrease depends on your spice level
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Hing

Recipe Notes

- I used sona masoori rice so used 1:3 rice:water measurement.If you are using idli rava or some other rice use the water accordingly.
