Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch saffron strands generous pinch to get yellow color and natural flavor
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 4-5 tsp ghee(clarified butter) adjust accordingly
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, milk, saffron strands, and cardamom powder in a bowl and keep it ready.

  2. Turn on the instant pot to sauté mode. Once it displays hot add around 3 teaspoons of ghee(clarified butter).

  3. Add 1 cup of almond flour and roast it for 2-3 minutes. Please make sure the Costco almond flour turns light golden brown. This is very important step to get perfect badam halwa with almond flour.

  4. Turn off the sauté mode and add the sugar, milk, saffron strands, cardamom powder mix we prepared as a first step.Mix it well with the almond flour without any lumps.

  5. Turn on the instapot to pressure cook mode – 4 minutes -sealing position.

  6. In the meantime grease a plate with some ghee and keep it ready. Please do a quick release after the pressure cook completed.

  7. There will be some milk once you open the pot. Turn on the sauté mode and keep stirring by adding ghee little by little. You will see the badam halwa leaving sides of the instantpot without sticking to the bottom. At this stage turn off the instant pot and transfer it to a plate or a parchment paper.

  8. I used around 5-6 teaspoon of ghee for this badam halwa with almond flour. Traditionally more ghee is added to make this badam halwa recipe.

  9. Enjoy!
