Traditionally badam halwa is made with almonds soaked and skin peeled and ground into a coarse paste. This time after many successful attempts of almond burfi with almond flour I decided to try making badam halwa with almond flour and this was also a success with no burn. This recipe is with nuts if you are allergic, please avoid it.

What to use instead of almond flour?
You can use whole almonds. Please soak it for at least half an hour in water and grind it with milk to a semi-paste and not fine. This is a good substitute for almond flour. You can even try cashew flour.
Can I use roasted almonds?
I haven’t tried using roasted almonds.
Can I make a vegan badam halwa instant pot with almond flour?
Yes, you can with the following substitutions- Milk with water or any plant-based milk, Ghee|Clarified butter with coconut oil.

How to make badam halwa with almond flour?
Instantpot badam halwa with almond flour is a quick instant pot Indian dessert with less use of ghee. I added around 1 cup of milk for 1 cup of almond powder Costco and I prefer using granulated sugar instead of powdered sugar when you make this badam halwa recipe and used 6 quarts instant pot for this badam halwa recipe. One more key thing you got to make sure you roast the Kirkland blanched almond flour or any other almond flour to make this badam halwa using almond flour is a must to get the taste of traditional badam halwa.
As a first step, we are going to mix sugar, milk, saffron strands, and cardamom powder in a bowl and keep it ready.
Turn on the instant pot to sauté mode. Once it displays hot add around 3 teaspoons of ghee(clarified butter).
Add 1 cup of almond flour and roast it for 2-3 minutes. Please make sure the Costco almond flour turns light golden brown. This is a very important step to get the perfect badam halwa instant pot with almond flour.
Turn off the sauté mode and add the sugar, milk, saffron strands, cardamom powder mix we prepared as a first step.
Mix it well with the almond flour without any lumps.
Turn on the instapot to pressure cook mode – 4 minutes -sealing position.
In the meantime grease a plate with some ghee and keep it ready.
Do a quick release after the pressure cook completed.
There will be some milk once you open the pot. Turn on the sauté mode and keep stirring by adding ghee little by little. You will see the badam halwa leaving sides of the instantpot without sticking to the bottom. At this stage turn off the instant pot and transfer it to a plate or parchment paper
Once it cools it will become a little thicker. I used around 5-6 teaspoons of ghee for this badam halwa with almond flour. Traditionally more ghee is added to make this badam halwa recipe.
